The BMW 5-Series is a very well-rounded car for the majority of people, but off-road capability isn’t, obviously, on the menu. Enter this extreme off-road E60 5-Series, which looks like it came straight off the set of Mad Max.
The vehicle uses a 530d xDrive as a base, which is probably the best starting point for an off-roading 5-Series due to the extra traction from the all-wheel drive and the torque from the diesel engine. Additionally, based on what we can tell from the video, they somehow managed to outfit the car with solid axles at both the front and the rear.
The rest of the build seems to be comprised of massive off-road wheels and tires, a sizeable suspension lift, cut front and rear bumpers, an external roll cage, and a front brush guard.

With that being said, despite all the extra beefing up, this BMW looks to have taken quite the beating over its life, though that could be the reason they decided to convert it to an off-roader in the first place.
Given the fact that one of the side mirrors can be seen getting ripped off with little to no concern from the drivers, we’d imagine this is quite possible. Nevertheless, the short video shows the car tackling some pretty impressive terrain, even for a vehicle that isn’t a luxury sedan at heart, and you can check it out for yourself in the video below.
