The scale model specialists at Amalgam presented their latest offering which is the Ferrari 296 GTB beautifully recreated at 1:8 scale. The company retains a long-time collaboration with Ferrari so the hand-built model is as accurate as it gets, receiving official approval from the Ferrari Centro Stile.
The scale model is based on the original CAD drawings and is made from high-quality materials using Ferrari’s own paint codes and specifications. Each unit takes over 300 hours to complete, while development work for the 296 GTB took 3,000 hours.

Looking at the photos it is hard to find a flaw, and you could easily be fooled into thinking that you are looking at the full-scale model. The exterior looks mint with the carbon-fiber accents, the genuine paint, the mesh on the intakes, and the extremely detailed lighting units. Opening the doors you’ll notice an equally impressive work on the dashboard, while the seat upholstery even has red stitching.
Amalgam’s Ferrari 296 GTB is limited to 199 units at a price of €12,062 ($13,762) each. This sounds steep for a scale model but judging from the €269,000 ($306,908) starting price of the actual supercar, we guess a lot of owners will like to add it to their collection. After all, Amalgam is offering the option of Bespoke Models, so you can match the specification of your own Ferrari.
If you want to have a closer look at the scale model you can visit a Ferrari dealership across Central Europe since Amalgam has shipped a few examples for presentation purposes. Besides the 1:8 option, there is a smaller 1:12 model under development which should be more affordable.
