Not long after it was reported that the popular High Wing Spoiler would no longer be offered for the 2022 Corvette Stingray due to supplier constraints, Chevrolet has also dropped the Rear Park Assist function from the mid-engined sports car.
According to the Corvette Action Center, Chevrolet was forced to remove the Rear Park Assist function over a lack of appropriate semiconductors. The system uses a handful of ultrasonic sensors on the rear bumper and beeps when drivers are reversing and approaching an object. It’s a handy feature on any car, particularly one like the ‘Vette that is relatively compromised on rear visibility.

Those who placed an order for the 2022 Corvette with Rear Park Assist will receive a $50 credit in response to it being removed. While that may not seem like much, it is understood that the feature will be available to retrofit during the fourth quarter of the year.
The 2022 Corvette will only remain in production for a few more months as, according to a report from early January, Chevrolet will end production of the 2022 model on May 6 before it starts building 2023 models on May 9. It is understood that the dealer order guide for the 2023 car will be released on March 21 while on March 24, dealerships will be able to start entering MY2023 orders into GM’s system. The online configurator for the car will also be released on the same day.
