Gorgeous Lamborghini Aventador SV In SE30 Viola Pays Respects To Its Diablo Grandfather

The Lamborghini Aventador is officially retired as of this year while we await a replacement for the flagship bull. The LP750-4 SV was one of the wildest of the breed though and this particular example features just 78 miles (127km) on the odometer. And if that’s not enough to sway you take one look at its stunning paint job that nods heavily towards its iconic predecessor, the Diablo.

Listed over on Bring a Trailer, this Aventador is finished in the historic SE30 Viola which not only looks great but also happens to be a color first released on the 1994 Lamborghini Diablo SE30. The color was found on a Special Edition commemorating the brand’s 30th anniversary. Only 150 Diablos were finished in the SE30 spec and among them, 12- 15 received a special Jota specification that resulted in a peak of 595 HP.

Of course, this Aventador carries another special Lamborghini designation, SV, or Super Veloce. That nomenclature denotes a more hardcore version of the base model with lighter materials and usually more power from the engine. That’s certainly true in this case too since the standard 2017 Aventador made just 691 horsepower and the SV was bumped to a pulse-raising 740 HP.

In a world of Lamborghini’s being used simply as status symbols, it’s nice to see that the original owner of this car, who also owned a Lambo dealership in Canada, had some real respect for the history of the brand. We’re sad to see that the car hasn’t been used as it was intended to be, but at the same time, it’s easy to understand not wanting to risk damaging such a stunning combination of old and new-school cool.

The new owner will end up spending more than $450,000 on the vehicle as it’s just surpassed that total with a couple of days left in the auction. That’ll make it one of the most lucrative of the new year but well behind the Porsche Carrera GT that sold on the platform in January. Still, whoever does end up with the Aventador SV will get basically the entire package that the first owner did including the road hazard kit and tire changing gloves. Maybe they’ll drive it at least another 80 miles or so.
