Jaguar Land Rover announced today that it has formed a multi-year strategic partnership with computing experts NVIDIA. The plan is to jointly develop next-generation automated driving and AI-enabled services for its customers.
The brands announced that starting in 2025, all new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles will be built on the NVIDIA DRIVE software platform. This will deliver a wide spectrum of active safety, automated driving and parking systems, as well as driver assistance systems. The AI features will allow vehicles to monitor occupants and visualize the vehicle’s environment.
“Jaguar Land Rover will become the creator of the world’s most desirable luxury vehicles and services for the most discerning customers,” said Thierry Bollore, CEO of JLR. “Our long-term strategic partnership with NVIDIA will unlock a world of potential for our future vehicles as the business continues its transformation into a truly global, digital powerhouse.”

The system will be based on NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion, which features DRIVE Orin centralized AV computers, DRIVE AV and DRIVE IX software, as well networking systems and surround sensors. Jaguar Land Rover explains that the DRIVE Orin computer is like the brain of the vehicle, while the Drive Hyperion system is the central nervous system.
JLR plans to make use of NVIDIA technology to develop its vehicles further. It will use its own data center solution with NVIDIA DGX to train AI models and DRIVE Sim software built in the NVIDIA Omniverse. This real-time, physically accurate simulation will allow the automaker to create and validate innovative assisted and automated driving services throughout the life of the vehicle via over-the-air updates.
“Next-generation cars will transform automotive into one of the largest and most advanced technology industries,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Fleets of software-defined, programmable cars will offer new functionalities and services for the life of the vehicles. We are thrilled to partner with Jaguar Land Rover to reimagine the future of transportation and create the most advanced cars.”
