2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE Teased, Debuts Tomorrow With Power To Spare

Mercedes introduced the EQE at last year’s Munich Motor Show and now the company is giving us our first official glimpse at the upcoming AMG variant.

While the teaser video isn’t very revealing, it shows the model will be distinguished by a fully enclosed grille that features vertical bars as well as AMG badging. We can also see a familiar front bumper with black accents.

The modest styling changes continue further back as the model rides on aerodynamic wheels that are presumably backed up by a high-performance braking system. They’re joined by a taller rear spoiler and familiar taillights.

Mercedes is keeping details under wraps, but confirmed the car will be unveiled on February 16th at 00:01 am CET (February 15, 2022, at 6:01 pm ET). Furthermore, the company has previously teased that in its top grade (likely the AMG Dynamic Plus package also offered in the EQS 53), the model will have at least 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS).

Regardless of the final number, it will be significantly more powerful than the EQE 350 which has an electric motor that develops 288 hp (215 kW / 292 PS). The company has already confirmed additional variants are on the horizon and has said the EQE will offer a range of up to 410 miles (660 km) under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure.

While a number of questions remain, the model will join the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ which was introduced last fall. That particular model features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that develops 649 hp (484 kW / 658 PS) and 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of torque. However, that number increases to 751 hp (560 kW / 761 PS) and 752 lb-ft (1,020 Nm) of torque when equipped with the Dynamic Plus package.
