Mercedes-Benz is celebrating Valentine’s Day with the premiere of a short film called “Immortal Love” on YouTube that is all about love, longevity, and vampires, featuring different versions of the G-Class.

The eight-minute-long film was created by Antoni Garace, produced by ANORAK Film GmbH, and directed by Sebastian Strasser with photography by Antonio Afonso. It starts with a young couple being romantic with each other.

Then we get transferred to a fictional world of vampires where the woman – depicted by singer/songwriter Rimon – is a vampire rapper celebrating her 463rd birthday, and the man is just a human member of her fanbase and a journalist. According to Mercedes, the motif is staged as a modern interpretation of the story of Romeo and Juliet.

We have to admit that the whole atmosphere is a little weird, although we get the analogy between the never-ending love story and the “immortal” G-Wagen. The latter is present in all three of its generations, with special versions like the Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet and even the latest Mercedes-Benz Vision EQG Concept that previews the first fully electric G-Class.

As noted by Bettina Fetzer, Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz AG, “We’ve created a progressive film world in which vampires from all eras meet G-Classes from the last 40 years – a unique cast that unites all decades and model series. In this way, we are memorializing the incomparable longevity of our agile off-road icon.”

Mercedes-Benz has also launched the G-Class Private Lounge, a digital meeting place for G-Class owners and fans giving them access to exclusive content. Mind you, the automaker is already testing a facelifted version of the third-gen G-Class, while the fully electric EQG and the more capable 4×4² are also on the horizon.
