Authorities in Oklahoma have recovered a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that was recently stolen in Tulsa.
The valuable muscle car was taken from a locked facility during the first week of the year. Local authorities quickly began to investigate the case and towards the end of January, 20-year-old Nicholas Chamberlin was arrested in connection for the theft of the car.

Local police continued their hunt for the Mustang GT500 and were only able to find it while conducting an aerial search of a property near the small town of Mounds in Oklahoma. Police have also arrested two other individuals over their involvement in the theft, Toni Morris and Roy Morris.
Images shared to Facebook of the Mustang show that the thieves had started to strip down the classic muscle car, likely in an attempt to sell some of its parts. The car’s hood, front fascia, and front fenders have been removed, for example. The doors are also missing but fortunately, the engine has not been removed.
The Tulsa Police Department says the individuals involved in the theft have been charged with Larceny of an Automobile and 2nd Degree Burglary. Investigations continue and authorities expect to make additional arrests in the case. They also found a stolen dump truck and a stolen sedan on the same property where the Shelby was recovered.
1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 models like this example are worth between $120,000 and $200,000 depending on their condition. Here’s hoping that police are also able to locate the parts that were removed so the car can be returned to its original form.
