A CarScoops reader has spied a forthcoming electric vehicle from MG undergoing testing in Hungary.
The shape of the prototype immediately catches the eye. While it is bathed in camouflage, it seems to have an overall similar shape to the Kia EV6 albeit on a slightly smaller scale.

From the front, we can see the prototype has a sporty nose with angular headlights and LED daytime running lights. In addition, it sports a large lower front grille and brake cooling ducts. Viewed from the side, the tapered roof of the prototype stands out, as does the steeply raked rear window and trunklid spoiler. LED taillights also appear to be present.
Compared to other existing MG models, this one looks radically different.
CarScoops reader Dániel Balogh and Hungarian Supercar Spotters snapped this prototype and while he wasn’t able to get a look at the cabin, Autohome has published a series of images that show parts of the cabin. They reveal the new MG EV will have plush seats clad in black leather, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a large infotainment display. Other interior components were hidden from view on this prototype.
Technical specifications about the vehicle are unknown but it is possible that it could feature a similar powertrain to the MG Marvel R unveiled for the European market in October last year. That vehicle is a rebadged version of the Roewe Marvel X already on sale in China and is available with either two electric motors at the rear axle producing 177 hp and 302 lb-ft (410 Nm) or a tri-motor setup that adds a front motor, resulting in a combined 284 hp and 490 lb-ft (665 Nm). The Marvel R is also sold exclusively with a 70 kWh battery pack.
Hat tip to CarScoops reader Dániel Balogh for the photos!
