A 1981 Audi 5000 S Diesel has just hit the market and is bound to get some Audi enthusiasts very excited.

While the Audi 5000 may not be instantly familiar to some, it was essentially the North American version of the Audi 100 and 200 models sold in other markets. It has been listed up for auction through Cars and Bids and has 51,800 miles (83,364) under its belt, not that much considering its age.

The exterior of the car is finished in a color dubbed Helios Blue Metallic and has gold-colored coachlines running along both sides. It continues to fit on the original 14-inch wheels and the side windows have been tinted. The listing makes no mention of any significant bodywork damage, although photos do show some paint chips and areas of the body that have started to fade, in particular the front bumper.

The blue theme continues into the cabin of the 5000 S Diesel where there is blue leather adorning the dashboard, steering wheel, and seats. There is also a light-colored headliner and blue carpets. Among the key interior features are power-operated windows, a sunroof, air conditioning, a Blaupunkt cassette player, and cruise control.

Powering the car is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated diesel five-cylinder diesel engine with power sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The engine was good for 67 hp and 85 lb-ft (115 Nm) of torque back in the day.

The listing notes that the oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, fuel injectors, fuel return lines, cold start advance unit, timing belts, water pump, idler pulley, drive belts, coolant, valve cover gasket, and rear main seal were all recently replaced. The tires and brakes were also replaced so the car should continue to soldier on for many years to come.
