2022 Fiat E-Ulysse Debuts As An Eight-Seat Electric Van Up With To 205 Miles Of Range

Fiat’s electric vehicle push continues as the company has introduced the new E-Ulysse.

Originally announced last year, the E-Ulysse is an electric van that is billed as the “ideal vehicle for transportation services such as VIP shuttles.”

It follows in the footsteps of the standard Ulysse and features slick styling as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. Customers can also choose between standard and long variants, which measure 195.1 (4,956 mm) and 208.9 inches (5,306 mm) long. Speaking of options, the model can be outfitted with xenon headlights, power sliding doors, and an automatic liftgate.

The interior is a bit plain, but the E-Ulysse can accommodate up to eight people and haul up to 173 cubic feet (4,900 liters) of cargo. The model also comes equipped with a tri-zone climate control system and a 7-inch infotainment system.

The seven-passenger Lounge variant is billed as a ‘living room on wheels’ and it features five rear seats as well as a deployable table. Buyers will also find a massive panoramic glass sunroof as well as heated leather front seats with a massage function.

Other highlights include an air sanitizer and rail-mounted rear seats that can “easily be moved, reclined or even removed, all with a straightforward action.” Customers will also find an assortment of driver assistance systems including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and side blind-spot alert. There’s also a rearview camera and traffic sign recognition technology.

The E-Ulysse comes standard with a 50 kWh battery pack, which provides a range of up to 143 miles (230 km) in the WLTP cycle. Customers can also upgrade to a 75 kWh battery pack that increases the range up to 205 miles (330 km).

The batteries power an electric motor that develops up to 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS) and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque. Given those numbers, it’s not surprising to learn the van isn’t quick as the dash to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 13.5 seconds and the top speed is only 80 mph (130 km/h). On the bright side, the E-Ulysse has a 100 kW fast charge capability and this enables the smaller battery to be given an 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes.

The Fiat E-Ulysse will be built in Hordain, France alongside an assortment of other vans including the Citroën Jumpy, Peugeot Expert, and Opel / Vauxhall Vivaro. Orders open this month and deliveries are slated to begin in May.
