Infiniti officials have reportedly revealed plans for an all-new crossover that will arrive in 2025.
According to Automotive News, the model will be based on the same platform that underpins the redesigned QX60.
Little is known about the vehicle at this point, but a dealer who attended the presentation said the model will be a mid-sized crossover that targets empty nesters. As they explained, “What they’re looking at is the three-row QX60 for the growing family, and the new two-row crossover will be for the family when the kids are off to college.”

AutoForecast Solutions’ Sam Fiorani suggested the vehicle will slot between the $39,150 QX50 and $46,850 QX60, and compete with models such as the Lexus RX and Mercedes GLE. The latter reside in a popular segment, which Infiniti has been absent from.
Little else is known about the crossover at this point, but it would presumably echo the QX60. If that’s the case, it may have a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system.
Besides announcing plans for a new crossover, Infiniti reportedly showed dealers the redesigned QX80 and the company’s upcoming electric sedan. The latter model was teased last month and will go into production in Canton, Mississippi in 2025.
Less is known about the QX80, but previous reports have suggested the redesigned Nissan Armada will be launched in the United States late next year. It’s slated to drop the current 5.6-liter V8 – which develops 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) and 413 lb-ft (559 Nm) of torque – for a new twin-turbo V6 engine.
