Austrian upstart automaker, DEUS Automobiles GmbH that was founded in 2020, announced today that it will be offering a fresh vision for luxury, performance, and exclusivity with its upcoming “hypercar” concept.

Details are limited but the company says its focus is on 100 percent electric propulsion technology for its range of high-performance vehicles. It has also stated that it will receive technical support from Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering.

Those companies announced in April that they would be collaborating to introduce a new all-electric platform dubbed EVX. It features a composite structural battery that comes in capacities of 104 kWh, 120 kWh, or even 160 kWh and the drivetrain can deliver up to 1,341 hp (1,000 kW/1,360 PS). The wheelbase is capable of extending from 2,900mm to 3,100mm (114-122-inches).

Williams Advanced Engineering currently provides the battery packs for the entire Formula E grid and also supplies batteries for the ETCR and Extreme E racing championships. Italdesign, meanwhile, has much experience developing pre-series and limited production vehicles at its Torino, Italy, headquarters.

DEUS Automobiles says that it is part of a group of businesses with more than 30 years of success in industries ranging from publishing to packaging. It enters a competitive field, though, with Lucid, Raesr, Pininfarina, Rimac, Tesla, and even GMC all coming with electric vehicles with more than 1,000 hp (745 kW/1014 PS).

This hypercar concept will, however, look to differentiate itself from the rest at its debut at the New York International Auto Show, which runs from April 15-24.
