Everyone loves a thorough detailing job. Some people also love a classic Saab. So what would happen if you combined the two? You’d get this video from I Am Detailing, which shows what is essentially a full visual restoration of a late-80s/early-90s Saab 900 Turbo.
They begin the process by dry ice cleaning the underbody, covering everything from the chassis and suspension components to the exhaust and fuel tank. They then work their way up, cleaning things like the wheel wells and the engine bay. The process is quite satisfying, especially seeing some of the parts that were black with dirt come out shining silver again. After the dry ice cleaning was done, they applied a protective coating to preserve the results.

Next up in the detailing process was the paint correction, but not before a wash. In their typical thorough fashion, the Saab received a full pressure wash with snow foam, complete with brushing out the crevices by hand and drying them with an air hose. Once that was done, they looked for what needed to be corrected on the paint, measured the paint depth, and got to work. They started by masking off the car’s trim and removing the badges, then began the compound and polish at the wheels and worked their way up. They even went so far as to paint correct things like the door jambs, engine bay, and valve cover.

After the exterior was done, they moved on to the interior. They deep cleaned the floor mats, scrubbed the interior with a special cleaning solution, and even cleaned the spare tire and the jack in the trunk. The final step was restoring the leather upholstery with a conditioner. The job was finished after a ceramic coating on the body and the reinstallation of all the pieces they removed.
In the end, the Saab, which wasn’t even in terrible shape to begin with, comes out looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor, and you can watch the process for yourself in the video below.
