Toyota announced the official specifications of the bZ4X ahead of its pan-European launch. Most importantly, the fully electric model comes with a WLTP range of up to 516 km (321 miles), which is higher than the preliminary data.
More specifically, Toyota announced a homologated WLTP range of 516 km (321 miles) for the FWD model, and 470 km (292 miles) for the dual-motor AWD variant. Both numbers are higher than initial expectations which were 500 km (311 miles) and 460 km (286 miles) respectively, while during the UK launch an even lower 450 km (279 miles) range was mentioned. Power consumption is 14.3 kWh/100 km for the FWD and 15.8 kWh/100 km for the AWD version.

The battery is slightly different in terms of capacity with 71.4 kWh in the FWD and 72.8 kWh in the AWD. Both are compatible with up to 6.6 kW AC charging and up to 150 kW DC charging. For peace of mind, Toyota is offering an optional “extended care program” guaranteeing 70 percent of the battery’s capacity for 10 years or 1,000,000 km (621,371 miles).
In terms of performance, the single-motor version produces 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque, which is good for a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 8.4 seconds. The dual-motor layout brings all-wheel drive and a combined output of 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 336 Nm (247 lb-ft) of torque, allowing a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 7.7 seconds. Mind you, the bZ4X is based on the eTNGA platform which is going to underpin all seven members of the bZ family set to debut by 2025.
The first deliveries of the bZ4X will gradually start in European markets from this summer. Besides buying the car, European customers will also have the option of an all-inclusive leasing program including maintenance, wallbox charger, and connected services. Toyota hasn’t announced pricing for European markets but in the UK, the entry-level bZ4X starts from £41,950 (€49,743 / $55,140).
