Facelifted 2023 Hyundai Palisade Spied With New Grille

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade prototype has been spied winter testing wearing what appears to be a new fascia and riding upon top-trim wheels.

The three-row Palisade has been on the market since late 2018 and is due for a refresh. Based on the brand’s typical model cycle, we’ll likely see the updated SUV arrive in late 2022 as a 2023 model.

Although Hyundai has done its best to hide it, we can just barely make out the redesigned grille under the camouflage. The new snout is likely to follow the design language debuted in the 2022 Tucson, as well as the Santa Cruz. The rear of the mid-size is also heavily camouflaged, suggesting that it will be redesigned as well.

The prototype vehicle rides on 20-inch wheels borrowed from the top-of-the-line Palisade Calligraphy, suggesting that this is the highest trim model.

Spy photographers were not able to get a shot of the interior this time, but previous images have shown that it will receive a number of updates. The revised features slender vents, freestanding digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, as well as a new steering wheel.

Hyundai’s 3.8-liter V6 is expected to carry over from the current model without any changes, producing 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and buyers will be able to choose either all-wheel-drive or just front-wheel drive. Hyundai has not stated whether or not a hybrid system is in the works for the Palisade.

The Palisade is a popular model in the US, selling 86,539 units in 2021. It shares a platform with Kia’s Telluride, which sold slightly better at 93,705 units last year.

2022 Palisade models are priced from $34,335 including $1,185 destination, and we expect the facelifted 2023 model to cost a little bit more.
