Ferrari always has been an automaker rooted in motorsport, and to pay tribute to their racing roots, they sometimes offer special details for their road cars inspired by their race cars. The latest of those offerings comes in the form of a new red paint, which is inspired by their 2022 Formula 1 car, the F1-75.
Aptly named “Rosso F1-75 Opaco”, the matte red hue is the same one found on their challenger for the 2022 F1 season. We’d imagine this color comes as a celebration of return to form for the Italian team, as after a lackluster sixth place in the 2020 F1 season and an improved third in 2021, they’ve managed to score a 1-2 finish at this season’s opening race at Bahrain, a feat they haven’t been able to pull off since Singapore in 2019. Given how comfortably they were able to pull off this victory, at this point they look like the championship favorites, but with 22 more races left in the season, anything can happen.

Nevertheless, Rosso F1-75 Opaco will be joining seven other red hues in Ferrari’s color palette, albeit not every one of them is available on every car. That being said, this new color will be offered on every one of their models, which includes the 812 (GTS, Competizione, Competizione A), 296 GTB, SF90 (Stradale and Spider), F8 (Tributo and Spider), Roma, and Portofino M. Even the ultra-limited Daytona SP3, of which all examples have been spoken for, can be optioned in the color on the configurator.
Ferrari’s customers can already order the color on their new supercar, and we could potentially even see it on the upcoming Purosangue SUV.
