The owner of a new Ford Bronco should be thanking his lucky stars after rolling the off-roader but escaping serious injury and avoiding any serious damage to the off-roader.

A video shared to TikTok shows what went wrong. The Bronco was being driven in Moab, Utah and the owner attempted to climb up a steep rock face. The Ford breezes through the first half of the climb without breaking a sweat but towards the top, the driver suddenly hits the brakes, seemingly to readjust his line.

Unfortunately, the Bronco began to slowly roll backward. For quite some time, it appears as though the driver is in control and will simply reverse the off-roader down the rock face to make another attempt. Instead, the SUV keeps on sliding backward and eventually tips over onto its side at the bottom of the climb.

Shortly after posting the clip online, the owner shared a video detailing the damage done to the Bronco. He also reveals that the engine died when he was climbing the obstacle, which explains why he tried to hit the brakes and why he had no control of it as it gradually rolled down the slope.

Some scuffs and scrapes were done to the side of the Bronco and some minor damage was also done to the wing mirror and the soft top. Some of the differential fluid also leaked out when the Ford flipped onto its side and the owner credits the aftermarket rock sliders as helping to soften some of the impact.

It is unclear why the Bronco’s engine cut out but as long as it isn’t a serious issue, the off-roader should be ready to get back onto the trails in no time. For the sake of the owner, we hope his next off-roading expedition is trouble-free.
