If you want a pickup truck that can scare some sports cars on a drag strip while also tackling some of the toughest conditions imaginable, then a modified Ram 1500 TRX from Hennessey Performance might be right up your alley.
Even in stock form, the Ram 1500 TRX is one of the most remarkable high-performance pickup trucks on the market. It is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 churning out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, enough grunt to put the current Ford F-150 Raptor to shame. Of course, it’s not just the powertrain that makes the TRX special.
Ram has equipped the pickup with all-new independent front suspension with active damping technology thanks to the use of 2.5-inch (63 mm) Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks. Hennessey’s version of the TRX, fittingly dubbed the ‘Mammoth 1000,’ is even more extraordinary.

To make the TRX even faster, the Texas tuning company fits the 6.2-liter V8 with a 2.65-liter supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, and a new high-flow air induction system. These changes have seen power soar to 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft (1,313 Nm) of torque, remarkable figures for a supercar, let alone a big pickup truck.
The bright yellow Mammoth 1000 featured in this video has also been built with the available Stage 2 off-road package that includes unique front and rear bumpers, LED lights, a front leveling kit, upgraded electronic fold-out steps, and 37-inch off-road tires.
As you can see, not only is this overhauled truck capable of speeding through deserts without breaking a sweat, but it is also right at home in the snow.
