Nissan is known for its creative stunts that promote technologies used in its production models and the latest video is no exception. The Japanese company built an electric scale model that can serve ramen bowls on a counter table without spills, showcasing the smoothness capabilities of the e-4ORCE electric AWD system found in the Nissan Ariya EV.

The demonstration took place in a Japanese restaurant with the chef loading ramen bowls on the bespoke vehicle, or “motorized server tray” as Nissan calls it, which carried them to customers through the counter. Initially, everyone thought the autonomous vehicle would spill the ramen during deceleration since it was going pretty fast. However, thanks to the Nissan e-4ORCE technology the soup remains inside the bowl and all customers are happy to enjoy their spill-free meal.

To successfully complete its mission, the e-4ORCE ramen server tray is fitted with two electric motors, one on each axle, that are operating independently. Thanks to special tuning from Nissan’s engineers, they deliver smooth acceleration and deceleration just like in the Ariya, reducing front and rear vehicle sway.

In the fully electric SUV that is already available to order in global markets including the US, the e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology utilizes front and rear motor regenerative braking during deceleration, minimizing the vehicle pitch and dive. According to Nissan this reduces motion sickness and enhances riding comfort for passengers.
