The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Will Tear It Up In Rocket League

Psyonix, the publisher behind the enormously popular video game, Rocket League, announced today that it has teamed up with Lamborghini to introduce the new Countach LPI 800-4 to the game’s list of drivable vehicles.

The car will cost players 1,100 in-game credits and will come with special engine audio, two sets of wheels (the modern ones and a set inspired by the original Countach of the ’70s), an Argento Luna Decal, and a special player banner.

Built by Lamborghini as a special edition model to celebrate the history of the Countach, which still inspires the brand’s design today, the 2022 Countach LPI 800-4 is based on the Sian, itself related to the Aventador. That means that it’s powered by a 6.5-liter mild-hybrid V12 that makes 803 hp (599 kW / 814 PS), which is funneled to all four wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission.

Rocket League players are spoiled for choice when it comes to real-life cars to play with. Along with the standard brandless buggy, automakers have partnered with the game so that it now includes BMWs, Fords, screen cars (such as the DeLorean and K.I.T.T.), and even the Aston Martin Valhalla, among others.

Lamborghini, though, will also return as an official sponsor of the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 Winter Major. The event runs from March 23-27 with the final two days of the event being played at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California, on March 26 and 27.

The Countach LPI 800-4 bundle will be available starting on March 30 on all platforms.
