Kimera Automobili has just delivered the first customer example of the Lancia-inspired EVO37.
The small company is building just 37 units of the EVO37 for customers. The unnamed owner of this first example is said to be a Dutch entrepreneur who owns a large collection of cars and frequently drives all of them, rather than locking them away in a garage. Chassis #001 was delivered in St. Moritz and is lovingly known as ‘Esmeralda.’
The exterior of this EVO37 is painted in a shade of dark green and sports yellow-tinted headlights. The wheels also catch the eye thanks to the intriguing silver and dark bronze-colored spokes. As for the interior, it is just as striking as the exterior thanks to a combination of tan and green Alcantara that adorns virtually every single surface, including the bucket seats.

Kimera uses a special Virtual Reality program to help customers spec-out their dream ride. By wearing an Oculus device, the customer was able to view the EVO37 at every stage of the construction process and request customizations for even the smallest of details.
The Kimera EVO37 is powered by a 2.1-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine that produces over 500 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This engine was built under the guidance of Claudio Lombardi who was responsible for building the engines of the original Lancia 037 rally cars. Drive is sent to the rear wheels courtesy of a six-speed manual transmission. Additionally, all of the body panels are made from carbon fiber whereas the original 037 had fiberglass panels.
As mentioned, Kimera will only build 37 examples of the EVO37 and has so far sold 26 of them from €480,000 ($520,000) each. The base price of the remaining nine units has jumped to €540,000 ($585,000) and includes some previously-optional features as standard, including digital rear cameras and a carbon fiber package.
