BMW Japan is celebrating the unveiling of the 2023 7-Series by announcing plans for a First Edition.

Currently available to order, the special edition is based on the 740i Excellence, 740i M Sport, and i7 xDrive60 Excellence.

Regardless of which version is selected, The First Edition comes equipped with a 31.3-inch rear seat entertainment system as well as the Select package, which includes a Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof, an interior camera, and a 40 speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.

Buyers will also find the Rear Comfort package, which adds multi-function rear seats with heating, ventilation and a massage function. The package also includes an Executive Lounge Rear Console, while the Excellence variants also come with Executive Lounge seating.

The 740i Excellence and i7 xDrive60 Excellence ride on special 20-inch wheels with a two-tone finish, while the 740i M Sport has 21-inch wheels with jet black accents and 3D polishing. Customers can also order special color combinations including an eye-catching tanzanite blue and oxide gray pairing for the i7.

The 740i variants should have a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS) and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. Likewise, the i7 xDrive60 should have a 105.7 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system pumping out a combined output of 536 hp (400 kW / 543 PS) and 549 lb-ft (744 Nm) of torque.

Deliveries of The First Edition are slated to begin in the fourth quarter and production will be limited to 150 units, which will be split equally between the three variants (50 each). Pricing starts at ¥17,200,000 and climbs to ¥19,000,000 for the i7 xDrive60 Excellence The First Edition.
