Kia today announced pricing for the all-new 2023 Sportage Hybrid, which will start $28,545 ($27,290 + $1,255 destination fee). That makes the crossover cheaper than one of its biggest rivals, the 2022 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid, which starts at $30,290 ($29,075 + $1,215 destination fee) in its least expensive LE trim.
The Sportage Hybrid is available in three trim levels, LX, EX, and SX-Prestige. All will be offered with an AWD drivetrain but only the LX offers FWD.
The crossover is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which is paired to a 59 hp (44 kW/60 PS) electric motor. Together, they combine to churn out 227 hp (169 kW/229 PS) while returning a targeted 39 mpg (6.0 L/100 km) and a total range of more than 500 miles (805 km) on a tank of gas.

Power is sent to the wheel through a six-speed automatic transmission and the Sportage Hybrid is capable of towing up to 2,000 pounds. It also contains a 1.49 kWh battery supply for the electric motor.
The compact Kia is a tech showcase and well-equipped models are offered with dual panoramic curved infotainment displays. This includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touch screen. Customers buying the high-zoot EX trim can also select animal-free leather to help make the interior greener.
Kia plans to start selling the Sportage very soon, with models reaching dealers this spring.
