The fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade debuted in 2020 but GM is already working on a facelift, possibly for the 2024 MY. Our spy photographers caught a heavily camouflaged prototype of what appears to be an updated Escalade, ahead of the May 11 launch of the performance-focused Escalade V.

The only parts of the prototype not covered are the greenhouse and the doors which like in every facelift will remain unchanged, while layers of vinyl are hiding the updated front and rear ends. A closer look reveals a similar front bumper treatment with the Escalade V, including a larger lower intake and the sportier vertical side inlets with integrated DRLs.

The full-size SUV is fitted with a set of 12-spoke 22-inch Dark Android wheels. Those wheels are already offered in the Sport and Sport Platinum trims, but are different from the ones on the Escalade V. The latter also comes with beefier brakes and quad exhausts while the prototype features a simpler dual tailpipe configuration.

This leads us to believe that this test car might be a facelifted Escalade Sport borrowing design cues from the Escalade V. Besides the visual treats, the Escalade could get some tech and trim upgrades inside the cabin, most likely retaining the same engines.

A facelifted Escalade range could appear sometime in 2023 for the 2024 model year making the iconic SUV more desirable against newer rivals like the recently revealed Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L. Cadillac has pledged to keep the ICE-powered Escalade in the market until 2029, before becoming an all-electric brand in 2030.
