Ferrari 328 GTS’s First Wash After Sitting In Barn For Years Has It Looking Like New Inside And Out

For one reason or another, sometimes we have to set our cars aside for extended periods of time. And when that happens, they can get quite dirty. Case in point is this 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS that hasn’t been washed in 6 years, but luckily the talented detailers of AMMO were able to remedy that.

First on the checklist was getting the car out of the barn it had been sitting in. That involved taking it off its jack stands and pushing it onto a flatbed, where it could then be brought to the detailing facility. Once it was there, the team of detailers got to work.

They began by removing the Ferrari‘s wheels and heavily pressure washing the wheel wells. From there, they did the same to the paint in an initial attempt to remove the years of caked-on dirt as best as possible. Once the paint was largely free of contaminants, they applied a snow foam soap and allowed it to soak for an extended period of time. While that was going on, they brushed the hard-to-reach areas with a fine brush and scrubbed the larger areas of the body with a microfiber towel. Once that was complete, they gave the paint a thorough pressure rinse.

From there they did a full clean of the underbody complete with hand scrubbing, pressure washing, and compressed air drying, then meticulously cleaned the wheels (they mention that they have over 26 minutes of film of them cleaning a single wheel). After the car was completely clean, they moved on to paint correction, dressing the black plastic trim, and cleaning out the engine compartment.

With all that out of the way, it was time to tackle the interior, which was a full challenge all on its own. To take care of it, they vacuumed up all the clutter, cleaned the upholstery, and removed the mold from the cabin. At that point the vehicle was done, so they reinstalled the wheels, applied tire shine to the tires, and gave the paint a nice shine with some wax.
