Mercedes introduced the redesigned C-Class a little over a year ago and now the company is providing the first official glimpse at an upcoming AMG variant.
Believed to be the C43 successor, the sport sedan features a lightly revised front end with a Panamericana grille. It’s joined by a sportier bumper, which appears to be shared with the existing AMG Line package.
There isn’t much else to see, but previous spy photos have shown the model will be equipped with sportier side skirts, lightweight wheels, and a rear diffuser that resides between a four-tailpipe exhaust system. We can also expect a handful of interior updates including a sport steering wheel, sport seats, and special trim.

Of course, the most interesting development is under the hood as the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine will be replaced by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. While that sounds like a downgrade, the four-cylinder in the A45 S develops 415 hp (310 kW / 421 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. That compares favorably to the old C43, which had 385 hp (287 kW / 390 PS) and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque.
While the car’s output and name remains a mystery, we’ll find out more details in the near future as the company confirmed the model is “coming soon.”
