Lucid Motors revealed the Air Grand Touring Performance, the latest version of the electric sedan with 1,050 hp of power and an EPA-estimated range of 446 miles (718 km). The model which is priced at $179,000 with the first deliveries scheduled for June 2022, is a replacement for the sold-out Air Dream Edition Performance.
The dual electric motors of the Air Grand Touring Performance produce 1,050 hp (783 kW / 1,065 PS) which is slightly less than the 1,111 hp (828 kW / 1,126 PS) of the Air Dream Edition Performance. Still, this makes it the most powerful EV currently available in North America.
The model can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 2.6 seconds, 0.1 seconds slower compared to the Air Dream Edition. Similarly, the 446-mile (718 km) rating for the driving range is slightly shorter than the 451 miles (725 km) of the Dream Edition Performance with the same 21-inch wheels. The 900V+ battery technology allows ultra-fast charging adding up to 300 miles (483 km) of range in 21 minutes from a 350 kW DC charger.

Lucid has also detailed the Air Grand Touring which offers 819 hp (610 kW / 830 PS), which is more than the initial estimates. This one can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-97 mph) in 3 seconds flat. Lucid claims an even longer EPA-estimated range of up to 516 miles (830 km) when fitted with 19-inch wheels (469 miles / 755 km with the 21-inch wheels), thanks to an “industry-leading” efficiency of 4.6 miles per kWh.
Visually, both Grand Touring trims get the standard Intelligent Micro Lens Array LED Headlights, and 21-inch wheels shod in bespoke Pirelli tires. The Grand Touring Performance has the version-specific 21-inch Aero Sport wheels, while the Grand Touring can be had with 19-inch Aero range wheels shod in all-season tires allowing it to achieve the maximum range rating.
Customers can choose between five exterior shades (Stellar White, Infinite Black, Cosmos Silver, Quantum Grey, and Zenith Red), and four interior themes inspired by California (Santa Cruz, Tahoe, Mojave, and Mojave PurLuxe) combining Nappa full-grain leather, Alcantara, and wood trim.
Both variants come with a long list of standard equipment, including a glass roof, the 5K resolution 34-inch Glass Cockpit for the infotainment, OTA software upgrade capability, the entire DreamDrive Pro ADAS suite with more than 30 safety systems, a 21-speaker Surreal Sound audio system compatible with Dolby Atmos technology, heated and ventilated front seats with massage function, soft-close doors, and electric frunk/trunk.
Deliveries of the Lucid Air Grand Touring have already commenced. As for the Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance, it will reach US customers in June 2022, before arriving in Canada in August 2022. The model’s MSRP starts from $179,000 USD excluding shipping costs in the United States, and from $242,000 CAD before taxes in Canada. This makes it $10,000 more expensive compared to last year’s Dream Edition Performance. As reported by Automotive News, Lucid’s production estimates for 2022 are between 12,000 and 14,000 units of the Air due to supply shortages.
