Koenigsegg is a well-established maker of ultra-exclusive few-off hypercars but it has yet to go after one-off special projects such as the ones from Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ferrari. This will change soon as suggested in an unofficial teaser of a Koenigsegg CC12 that appeared in the background of a Mr. JWW video on YouTube, following Koenigsegg’s own teaser from last January.

It is now revealed that the model was commissioned by “Carage“, a hypercar dealer and Koenigsegg specialist. During the video tour of the rather impressive facilities in Adligenswil, Switzerland, we can see a covered hypercar with a Koenigsegg badge and the CC12 lettering on the wall.

The black cover can’t hide the mid-engined proportions and some typical Koenigsegg design traits like the egg-shaped greenhouse. The surfacing on the flat nose and the pronounced fenders is very similar to the CC8S which was introduced in 2002 as Koenigsegg’s first production model. Exactly 20 years later and after having heavily influenced the bloodline of the CCR, CCX, Agera, and One:1 models, it feels like the right time to create a homage. The CC12 could share its underpinnings with the Jesko, combining the twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 that produces 1,578 hp (1,177 kW / 1,600 PS), with a bespoke CC8S-inspired body.

The video makes little mention of the special vehicle with Mr JWW saying: “We are not going to touch on this yet … just glance to that and we are going to talk about that soon”, adding “I think as well when that eventually comes out will give a lot of context of just how much you are able to achieve here”. The following comments by Kim Struve, CEO of Carage, make it clear we are talking about a vehicle commission, made possible by all the right connections inside Koenigsegg’s factory to make this project a reality.
