Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s campaign manager Kory Teneycke is probably no stranger to bumps in the road. They come with any job in politics. But we doubt that prepared him for an accident earlier in April when his vintage Ferrari 328 GTS was trampled by a Chevrolet Silverado.
Dashcam footage from a car waiting at a red light at an intersection shows vehicles coming from the right on a green light, including a Chevy Silverado towing a trailer. The cars facing the camera car, or to the Chevy’s right, have come to a stop at their red light, but Teneycke’s Ferrari suddenly appears, moving surprisingly quickly. Too quickly to stop, as it happens.
The gruesome action is at least 20 yds (18 m) away and partially obscured by the Honda CR-V in front of the camera car, but we see the Ferrari slide straight into the path of the Silverado, which appears to be three times the height. The Ferrari is knocked sideways, its front hood pops open, the Chevy bounces hard on its springs as it rebounds off the 328, and both vehicles come to a halt.

Teneycke had apparently only recently taken delivery of the 3.2-litre V8-powered 1988 Ferrari 328, which could be why he had chosen to drive it in the kind of wet weather that ensures most similar vintage Ferraris are tucked up inside their warm garages.
Ferrari was only starting to fit anti-lock brakes to its 328 sports cars in 1988 and online sources suggest that North American-market cars of this period weren’t fitted with it. So it’s possible that Teneycke locked up his front wheels as he approached the intersection, though even if that was the case it looked like he was approaching the light far too fast.
It’s clear from the video that the Ferrari runs a red light, and Teneycke has admitted this, meaning the Chevy driver is entirely in the clear, much to the relief of his insurance company, no doubt.
