A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Powell County, Kentucky after leading police on a chase that was captured on video by a nearby motorist.

Local authorities in Stanton were warned of an ongoing police chase coming from Winchester at roughly 2:54 p.m. on Sunday. It is unclear why police were pursuing Aaron Elliot but footage shared online shows the ending to the chase.

Filmed by a nearby motorist on a major highway, Elliot can be seen driving a red pickup truck and doing a U-turn across the median. Two police cruisers can be seen pursuing Elliot and in a bid to end the pursuit, one of the officers performs a PIT maneuver. This spins the pickup around and the police cruiser continues to push the truck down the road for several hundred feet.

The 30-year-old attempted to speed off in the truck but was then hit by a second police vehicle, pushing him into a ditch on the side of the road. Not willing to give up, Elliot quickly ran from the vehicle and jumped over a fence on the side of the highway. Police soon caught up and arrested him.

LEX18 reports that Elliot has been hit with a slew of charges, including first-degree assault (police officer), fleeing or evading police – motor vehicle, resisting arrest, failure of non-owner to main insurance (first offense), operating on suspended/revoked license, reckless driving, and operating a motor vehicle under influence of substance (first degree).

Fortunately, it doesn’t appear as though anyone was injured in the dramatic chase.
