Renault has confirmed that their latest concept car will debut at the ChangeNOW 2022 event on May 19. The yet-unnamed concept was announced last February with a hydrogen powertrain and the use of sustainable materials.

While the first teaser was somehow revealing, the new photo posted by Renault only shows what appears to be a small portion of the B-pillar. We can see an illuminated Renault emblem and the bespoke color-shifting paint combining blue, green, and purple shades. Those elements are still not enough to guess the bodystyle type of the concept which could be a hatchback like the Renault 5 supermini or a crossover/SUV like the Megane E-Tech.

The latest press release doesn’t mention the “hydrogen engine” as it was described in the original announcement. However, it talks about a “unique concept car embodying the group’s sustainable development vision and commitments”. Renault is an active player in hydrogen powertrains since it is already offering production vans with hydrogen fuel cells through its HYVIA venture.

What we don’t know is whether the French company will go down the hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine road like Toyota did with the GR Yaris Experimental and the Corolla racecar. We will learn more about the concept in the ChangeNOW event hosted at the Grand Palais Ephémère and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, between May 19 and 21.
