This is an independent render from Abimelec Design that is neither endorsed by nor related to Ford.
The Ford Crown Victoria is a ubiquitous vehicle, which it can attest to its proven chassis and simplistic good looks. Naturally, such a common and well-loved vehicle is subject to an owner’s personal touch.
Unfortunately, this particular car is only available in the digital world, as it’s the creation of Abimelec Arellano, of Abimelec Design. The understated body lines cause any small change to stand out, so Abimelec left most of the body completely stock, including the fender flares. The biggest change is obviously the extension of the front doors and the movement of the B-pillars, which gives the car the look of personal luxury, rather than an everyday sedan.
Ford offered the Crown Victoria in a coupe body style for the 1979-1987 model years, but discontinued it after that. In 2002, Ford built a coupe concept car out of a Mercury Marauder, which is based on the same Panther platform as the Crown Victoria. The concept was a two-door drop-top and featured a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 under the hood.

Abimelec’s render leaves the body as a hardtop and updates the powertrain with a Coyote V8, which should provide 460 horsepower in stock form. Other updates include HRE wheels, Toyo R888 tires, and a hood-mounted Shelby GT500 heat extractor. The vehicle is finished in a nice shade of Ford Performance Blue.
Abimelec has previously created another interesting rendering, imagining a Crown Victoria Cobra R performance sedan – an intriguing proposal that, unfortunately, the Blue Oval never built.
He clearly has a thing for the Crown Vic, but we can understand why. The Crown Victoria was one of the last rear-wheel-drive, body-on-frame cars, making it essentially a modern four-door muscle car. Add in a powerful V8 and the notoriety of police use, and you’ve got a vehicle that, despite its ubiquitous looks, does have a certain appeal.
