Aston Martin announced the resignation of Tobias Moers, who leaves the brand after two years as CEO. He will be replaced by ex-Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa effective immediately.
Tobias Moers, who was hired in May 2020, is resigning from Aston Martin’s board altogether, but he will support the new leadership until the end of July. The Financial Times report that the high ranked official and ex-AMG boss is leaving Aston Martin “after presiding over a collapse in morale at the business”. His management style is described as “robust”, with dozens of senior employees leaving the brand during his time. Reports about Moers departure surfaced in the British press last January but Aston Martin had declined to comment back then.

Automotive News Europe reports that Aston Martin has been battling setbacks in its turnaround plan, including the delay in the deliveries of the Valkyrie hypercar. The British automaker is going through a tough period financially since 2018, hoping to change things helped by the increased demand for the DBX. Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin Lagonda, commented that “there is a need for the business to enter a new phase of growth with a new leadership team and structure to ensure we deliver on our goals”.
The new management team will work on the electrification of Aston Martin as it was recently announced under the “Racing Green” plan. The British automaker wants to have a fully electrified model range by 2030, with its first EV coming in 2025.
