A special variant of the Avatr 011 first announced in November last year has just been announced for the Chinese market, dubbed the MMW.

The special edition will be made in just 500 examples and was created in collaboration with designer Mathew M. Williams who has served as creative director for Givenchy. A number of intriguing features distinguish the MMW edition from the regular model.

Immediately making the SUV stand out is the deep gloss black paint color which according to Car News China, includes self-repairing technology to fix minor scratches. The SUV also features 22-inch wheels and various black badges.

The interior has also been tweaked. Most notably, new black leather adorns the seats, door panels, and dashboard, complete with distinctive stitching.

Found beneath the skin of the 011 MMW is a 90.38 kWh battery pack that drives a pair of electric motors that combine to pump out 570 hp. The electric SUV can apparently hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds while also having the ability to run for more than 600 km (373 miles) on a single charge. It is also equipped with a 750-volt charging system that can charge at up to 240 kW, allowing for the battery to be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in 15 minutes.

The Avatr brand was formed through a joint venture between Changan Automobile and lithium-ion battery producer CATL. This car manufacturer is essentially a rebranded version of Changan Nio New Energy Automotive Technology that was formed by Changan and Nio. Huawei also played a role in making the intriguing SUV a reality.
