We’ve known about the long-awaited BMW M3 Touring since mid-2020 and while the car manufacturer continues to run a promotional campaign for the vehicle, it has yet to announce when it will be unveiled nor when it will hit the market.
However, a new report from BMW Blog claims that BMW has settled on a date to launch the M3 Touring and it’s very soon. In fact, the car manufacturer is apparently gearing up to premiere the car in June, just a matter of weeks after the lightweight, track-focused M4 CSL is expected to be presented to the world.

BMW Blog has not stated how it learned about a potential June date for the M3 Touring, other than noting that it is “rumored” to be unveiled next month. Regardless of whether this is true or not, we already know a lot about the car.
For starters, the M3 Touring will feature the same powertrain as the flagship M3 Competition xDrive. As a result, it will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six pumping out 503 hp and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque. This engine will be coupled exclusively to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels. While it would have been cool to see the M3 Touring also offered in rear-wheel drive and with a six-speed manual, sales of such a model simply wouldn’t be high enough to justify it.
As with any other car from the BMW M division, the M3 Touring features much more than a potent powertrain. BMW’s engineers have equipped it with a set of carbon ceramic brakes and also worked extensively on upgrading its chassis and suspension, including developing and fitting a bespoke V-shaped strut that sits under the car.
