There’s plenty to like about the current Porsche Panamera, but the big sedan had been overshadowed lately by the success of its faster, sexier, more futuristic electric Taycan brother.
To the surprise of some, Porsche has opted to carry the Panamera nameplate forward, and our latest spy photos show just how much of an influence the Taycan has had on the revised car’s design.
That much is clear from these interior pictures, which reveal that the 2024 Panamera adopts some key features and technology from the Taycan. The images show the prototype swaps the old car’s digital/analogue hybrid gauge pack for a fully digital version. It appears to be configured to show Porsche’s trademark five-clock layout, but the driver will be able to modify the view, just like on the Taycan.

Other Taycan-inspired changes include a small toggle-stye gearshift lever mounted between the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen, a move that frees up space on the transmission tunnel console that now features five physical buttons in addition to touch-sensitive ones hidden beneath the console’s surface.
The Panamera will benefit from Porsche’s new PCM 6.0 infotainment system that was announced in January and has already been rolled out to various models, including the current Panamera. And these pictures also seem to suggest that passengers in the Panamera will get their own screen mounted above the glovebox, as do those riding shotgun in the Taycan.
The Panamera’s exterior design has improved hugely since the hunchback original of 2009, and though Porsche has stuck with the four-door liftback formula for the 2024 model, it has updated the styling with Taycan-style LED headlights and a slim, full-width light bar at the rear.
There’s some speculation that prototypes like this car might actually be all-new cars, and there are some physical differences, like the oval fuel filler flap this example features in place of the square flap on the current car. But much of the rest of the car looks incredibly similar, so we might only be looking at a facelift.
Whether it’s brand new, or merely revised, the one thing we shouldn’t expect from the 2024 Panamera is an electric drivetrain. That would be treading on the Taycan’s toes, so the Panamera is likely to continue with a familiar mix of V6, V8 and plug-in hybrid powertrain options.
