The third generation Isuzu D-Max is a pretty capable pickup, but the off-road-prepped Arctic Trucks AT35 version takes things to another level. The latter served as a base for a one-off camper presented by Isuzu UK at the CV Show. Called Basecamp, the new version looks ready for any type of expedition in the wild.
Honoring its name, the Basecamp is fitted with an iKamper SkyCamp Mini 3.0 roof tent. It is accessible through ta ladder, offering enough room to sleep two adults. Tenants will stay protected under the hard shell coming with quilted insulation and will be able to enjoy the night sky through the Skyview window.

Other modifications include the black aluminum Gearmate hardtop canopy for the rear bed, featuring gullwing-type side and rear access doors. Inside the enclosed cargo area there is a modular roller drawer system by ARB Outback Solutions. It includes luggage space, a fridge, and a slide-out kitchen with a 3-burner gas stove and a 12-liter collapsible sink. Finally, the ARB Base Rack system in the roof will let you store the gas, water, and fuel containers, plus the recovery boards, saving space at the back for personal items.
Styling-wise, the D-Max comes with the full Arctic Trucks treatment including the wide fender extensions, the side steps, and the 17-inch black alloy wheels shod in chunky 35-inch 315/70R17 mud-terrain tires. Additionally, the Basecamp is fitted with a bull bar, three extra lights, a roof-mounted LED bar, a protector for the bonnet, and “Inspired by Extremes” decals.
Under the bonnet lies the stock 1.9-liter turbodiesel producing 162 hp (164 PS/121 kW) and 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque which is the only option for the D-Max in the UK market. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, while there is also the option of a six-speed automatic.
While the Basecamp is a one-off designed for demonstration purposes, interested parties could easily do similar modifications to an Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 converting it into an unstoppable capable camper ready for adventure. In the UK, the AT35 starts from £47,999 ($59,992).
