The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq AWD Will Have Around 500 HP

Cadillac has announced initial specifications for the all-wheel drive Lyriq during an Ask Me Anything event on Instagram.

Noticed by Car & Driver, the event revealed the all-wheel drive Lyriq can tow up to 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) and will have a combined output of approximately 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS).

The latter figure is a significant improvement over the rear-wheel drive model, which has a single electric motor developing 340 hp (254 kW / 345 PS) and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque. It also compares favorably to rivals such as the Audi e-tron, which has a dual motor all-wheel drive system developing up to 402 hp (300 kW / 408 PS) and 490 lb-ft (664 Nm) of torque. The all-wheel drive Lyriq also bests the Jaguar I-Pace EV400, which packs a combined output of 394 hp (294 kW / 399 PS) and 512 lb-ft (693 Nm) of torque.

However, there’s still a lot we don’t know including pricing and range. That being said, the rear-wheel drive variant starts at $59,990 and has a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides 312 miles (502 km) of range. When the battery is low, owners will be thankful for the 190 kW DC fast charging capability that can provide up to 76 miles (122 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes. At home, the Lyriq supports Level 2 chargers at rates up to 19.2 kW and this can provide up to 52 miles (84 km) of range for every hour of charging.

Deliveries of the Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition are slated to begin this summer, while additional variants will follow in the fall.
