The Cadillac Escalade-V is just about as ridiculous as SUVs get and a couple of weeks after its unveiling, the carmaker released a new commercial for it, dubbed ‘Be Iconic.’
It isn’t just the Escalade-V that stars in the video but also Dominican music producer Maffio. While the clip doesn’t really tell us anything about the Escalade-V that we didn’t already know, it includes some dramatic driving footage of the SUV.
While Cadillac has ambitious electric vehicle plans, that doesn’t mean it is giving up on internal combustion engines just yet. Indeed, the Escalade-V uses a very similar 6.2-liter supercharged V8 to the CT5-V Blackwing albeit equipped with a larger 2.65-liter supercharger with 10 pounds of boost. All up, this Escalade is good for 682 hp and 653 lb-ft (885 Nm) of torque, making it the most powerful Cadillac ever and allowing it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.74 seconds at 110 mph.

A plethora of other significant modifications has been made to the ultimate version of the Escalade. For example, it features the brand’s fourth-generation Magnetic Ride Control dampers while also sporting Air Ride Adaptive suspension. Cadillac has also equipped the Escalade-V with stiffer rear springs than those at the front. Coupled with the engine is a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power through all four wheels.
It is not just the extreme powertrain that differentiates the Escalade-V from the standard model. A number of striking exterior changes have been made to the SUV, including the fitment of a new black grille, distinctive 22-inch wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, and revised front and rear bumpers.
Cadillac will sell the Escalade-V in both standard and ESV long-wheelbase guises with prices kicking off from $149,990.
