1990s style is coming back in a big way, and almost the hottest Mustang you could get in that era was the SVT Cobra R.
This 1995 example up for auction on Bring a Trailer is just about as clean as they come, with only 4,500 miles (7,242km) on the odometer and an immaculate original white paint job. The sports car hides way more power than the exterior gives away, which makes for an unassuming performer on the road.
The Mustang features a fiberglass hood with a larger cowl to make room for the larger intake manifold, which is sitting atop a 5.8-liter Windsor V8 borrowed from the SVT Lightning pickup. The engine was warmed over with higher compression pistons, an aggressive camshaft, and a larger throttle body, which pushed the horsepower up to 300, with 265 lb-ft of torque.
That power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec 3550 five-speed manual transmission and through a 3.27 ratio rear differential.

The R designation also adds a number of suspension upgrades to the already-nimble Cobra, including Koni adjustable shocks, progressive-rate springs, a front strut-tower brace, and larger anti-sway bars.
All Cobra R models were finished in Crystal White Clearcoat Paint and feature Saddlecloth upholstery. Finally, the Cobra rides on a set of model-specific 17-inch wheels wrapped in Nitto tires.
Just 250 Cobra R models were produced for the 1995 model year, and this is number 237. It was sold new from Kendall Ford to the first owner, who owned it until 2014. The second owner auctioned the car on Bring a Trailer back in 2021, at which point it only had 4,200 miles (6,759km) on the odometer.
The original window sticker is included with the documentation and shows that the R package added $13,699 to the price of a standard ‘Stang, while the dealership marked it up by $15,000 for a total original price of $52,599.
