A new video has emerged of the moment a Tesla Model 3 went flying into a convention center in Columbus, Ohio. The clip shows the car actually getting airborne before crashing in the building in an accident that miraculously led to no life-threatening injuries.
In the video we can see three different angles of the crash that happened on Wednesday, May 4. NBC4 Columbus reports that the Tesla was cruising on SR-315 when the driver failed to brake and caused the crash.
The driver decided to take the Neil Avenue exit and was going about 70 mph (113 km/h) when the accident occurred. The car drove through a red light at Vine Street and North High Street before allegedly losing control of the brakes.

Three separate witnesses at the scene told police that the driver appeared to speed up in order to make a yellow light, though they said that the driver seemingly made no attempt to slow down before crashing into the convention center, reports 10WBNS, an ABC affiliate.
Initial estimates suggest that it will cost between $250,000 and $350,000 to repair the damage done to the building but things could have been much worse. Along with the pedestrians and other vehicles in the area at the time of the accident, the convention center was hosting several events that day, including a girls’ junior volleyball championship, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
The driver did suffer some injuries and was taken to the Grant Medical Center but, according to the police, is in stable condition. He was cited for failure to control his vehicle. Police reports do not state whether Autopilot was activated at the time of the crash.
