Driving off a cliff is a nightmare scenario for many of us and that nightmare became an unfortunate reality for this particular motorist recently.
Details about this incident are unclear, including where exactly it was filmed and what exactly happened after the video ends.
The clip was filmed from the dashcam of a vehicle following a white Haval SUV up a tight mountain road. At one stage, the driver of the Haval can be seen hitting the brakes before a tight left-hand bend. The driver then starts to reverse, likely with the intention of backing up just a few feet before shifting back into drive and getting around the corner.

Unfortunately, the driver backed up far too much and ends up reversing off the edge of the road. The Haval can be seen briefly sliding down the hill before going out of view of the dashcam.
As mentioned, it isn’t known what happened after the video but hopefully, the cliff wasn’t too high and the Haval hit a tree or another object that could have prevented it from sliding any further and perhaps spinning sideways which likely would have triggered it to start rolling down the slope.
There’s no doubt that the driver of the Haval is to blame for the crash (unless the SUV somehow got stuck in reverse) but an incident like this could have been easily prevented if there was a crash barrier on the edge of the road.
