It seems that everyone under the sun wants a Ford Bronco but if you’re not patient enough to place an order and wait many months to take delivery, we may have just found the perfect alternative for you; a gorgeous 1979 Ford Bronco.

Sure, you can’t really compare a 43-year-old Bronco with a brand new one but as a means of making a statement, we think this classic Ford blows the 2022 model out of the water. It is currently up for auction through Bring a Trailer and is being offered at no reserve.

This Bronco rolled out of Ford’s factory painted in Dark Jade Metallic Green with Free Wheeling stripes and was resprayed during a refurbishment last year. Other eye-catching parts of the car’s exterior include the white fiberglass hardtop, rear privacy glass, chrome grille and bumpers, sliding rear quarter windows, and door-mounted wing mirrors.

Elsewhere, the Bronco is sitting on a set of lovely 15-inch polished wheels wrapped in 33×12.5-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires.

The interior perfectly matches the exterior thanks to front seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in Jade Green vinyl with patterned cloth inserts and a matching dashboard, center console, carpets, and door panels. A number of faux wooden accents are also found across the dash, doors, and steering wheel.

Found beneath the skin of this Bronco is a 351 cubic-inch V8 that was rated at 156 hp and 277 lb-ft (375 Nm) of torque when it was new. The listing states that the oil and battery were recently replaced. Coupled with the V8 are a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case driving the rear or all four wheels.

A Deluxe Marti report issued with the Bronco reveals that this Bronco was one of 1,260 units produced in this color combination and left the factory on April 19, 1979.
