Everyone loves a good restomod, but every once and a while one comes along that really blows our socks off. This 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air is one of those, and we’d genuinely consider it a rolling work of art. Up for sale on eBay for $199,900 (although the listing has ended, which could mean that it has been sold), the Bel-Air received a full frame-off rotisserie restoration in addition to its numerous upgrades.
In terms of aesthetics, the Chevy sports silver paint on the exterior, complemented by Matte Pewter Metallic trim and bumpers (which have also been trimmed and shaved), Billet Specialties alloy wheels, and LED projector headlights. Inside, there’s custom burgundy leather upholstery, digital gauges, a custom center console and headliner, a new audio system with a retro-styled radio, and a Lokar floor shifter in place of the original column-mounted unit.
As is the case with almost every restomod, this Bel-Air has the bite to back up its bark. Powering it is a 5.7-liter LS1 V8, and while there’s no word on power, even stock these engines made a minimum of 305 hp (309 PS / 227 kW) in the U.S. market, and this one’s been modified. Upgrades include ceramic coated headers and Flowmaster mufflers, a Griffin aluminum radiator, and dual electric cooling fans. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4L65E four-speed automatic transmission, and the car also features full power operation for the steering, brakes, and windows.

Other new mechanicals include independent suspension up front with tubular upper and lower control arms along with a four-link live axle at the rear with a Currie 9-inch axle. The car features height-adjustable air suspension at all four corners, as well as new disc brakes with CPP calipers and drilled and slotted rotors. And going back to those Billet Specialties alloy wheels, they measure 18 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear, and compared to the stock rims, the tires they ride on are 55 mm and 75 mm wider respectively.
