Buick made a splash when they introduced the stylish Electra-X concept in China earlier this month. At the time, they said the model was designed to preview the company’s new styling language as well as hint at “Buick’s new generation of electric vehicles in China, underpinned by GM’s revolutionary Ultium platform.”
Now, fast forward to today and we’re getting a revealing look at the upcoming Envista, which closely resembles the Electra-X. However, there’s a big difference as China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed the Envista features a 1.5-liter engine producing 177 hp (132 kW / 179 PS).
That’s a radical change and documents go onto say the model will have a top speed of 127 mph (205 km/h) as well as a curb weight of 3,120 – 3,164 lbs (1,415 – 1,435 kg).

Getting back to the design, the Envista is an edgy crossover coupe that features slender headlights that reside on either side of Buick’s modernized tri-shield badge. Further below, there’s a large intake with horizontal chrome bars that are flanked by chrome ‘whiskers.’
Other notable highlights include plastic body cladding and a rakish windscreen that flows into a sloping roof. The model also sports 18-inch alloy wheels and a stylish rear end with slender taillights. We can also see a panoramic glass roof and a sportier GS variant with black accents.
In terms of size, the crossover coupe measures 182.6 inches (4,638 mm) long, 71.5 inches (1,816 mm) wide, and 61.6 inches (1,565 mm) tall with a wheelbase that spans 106.3 inches (2,700 mm). The latter figure is the same as the upcoming Chevrolet Seeker and it seems the two models are closely related as they also share the same powertrain and top speed.
