Polestar reached out and informed us that U.S. pricing for the Polestar 2 BST Edition has been set at $75,500, with the optional full wrap listed for $5,000 and the stripes, at $1,000. (Updated June 2, 2022, at 5:00pm).

Remember the high-performance Polestar 2 concept nicknamed the ‘Beast’ from last year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed? Well, the fact the public so well received it, led the company to green-light it for production, resulting in the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270. The limited-production special will be available in 270 units, reserved for Europe, North America, and China.

The production version looks similar to the concept, even though it has a less aggressive front bumper design. Still, it gets an aerodynamic extension for the bumpers and the side sills, a redesigned grille, and an optional matte-black stripe running through the bodywork. A beautiful set of black-painted 21-inch alloy wheels inspired by the Polestar 1 are shod in sticky 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tires developed specifically for the model.

The special edition is available in either Thunder or Snow exterior, but an optional Battleship Gray satin wrap is also available for those who prefer a darker look. In any case, it comes with glossy black accents and gold details (brake calipers, damper elements, valve caps), matching the gold seatbelts in the standard Charcoal WeaveTech interior.

The dual electric motors have been tuned to produce a combined 470 HP (350 kW / 476 PS) and 680 Nm (501.5 lb-ft) of torque, taking juice from the 78 kWh battery. This represents an increase over the 402 HP (300 kW / 408 PS) of the Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor, matching the figures of last year’s concept.

Chassis upgrades include a lowered suspension by 25 mm (1 inch), with a new setup improving responsiveness and handling. The sportiest Polestar 2 yet features bespoke Öhlins 2-way adjustable dampers with auxiliary adjustment champers mounted under the bonnet, 20 percent stiffer springs, and the addition of a front strut bar. Brakes remain unchanged since the Polestar 2 was already available with 4-piston Brembo calipers.

Polestar said that interested customers in Europe, North America, and China can  their interest and place their order directly through their local websites. Production of the 270 units of the performance-focused EV will start in mid-2022, with the first deliveries expected in the fourth quarter.
