Gas prices have been at an all-time high across the U.S., prompting President Biden to consider offering some relief to motorists. Biden has confirmed that he is thinking about a federal gas tax holiday, with a final decision to be made by the end of the week. The Federal tax on gasoline is 18.4 cents per gallon and 24.4 cents for diesel. As a result, a 20-gallon fill-up during the proposed gas tax holiday could save drivers $3.68 with gas or $4.88 with diesel.

The Mercedes eActros LongHaul may just beat Tesla to the haulage punch, with the company announcing that a concept will debut in September. Not many details about the new truck were released, but it was revealed that the vehicle will have a lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack that provides a range of around 311 miles (500 km) on a single charge.”Megawatt charging” capability will enable the battery pack to go from 20-80% in “well under 30 minutes.”

This Modified Nissan Leaf Is Heading To The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

A modified Nissan Leaf will be tackling the infamous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb later this week. Interestingly, there don’t appear to be any modifications to the EV’s drivetrain. Instead, the team behind the entry, Samurai Speed, has focused on improving the Leaf’s aerodynamics, with a new bumper, a distinctive hood, a massive splitter, and huge canards on either side of the bumper. The rear end has also been transformed with a fixed rear wing, a unique bumper, and a striking diffuser, while the Leaf is also now a two-door, with extra air intakes where the rear windows would be.
