The wild Project Maybach x Virgil Abloh Concept which premiered in December is one of the more outlandish concepts introduced in the past 12 months. In photos, it makes a bold statement but in the flesh, its design is even more eye-catching.

Recently filmed up close by YouTuber Mr. Benz, the Project Maybach was designed by Gorden Wagener and fashion designer Virgil Abloh. It is an all-electric, off-road-oriented coupe that will not spawn a production model but remains seriously cool.

The concept shares very little in common with pre-existing Mercedes-Benz models. In fact, the front fascia, thanks to the illuminated grille, round LED headlights, and prominent horizontal LED strip, make it somewhat resemble a futuristic Rolls-Royce.

Our favorite angle of the car is the side. From the side, you can see the unique wheels that have been clad in absolutely massive BF Goodrich mud-terrain tires that will ensure the concept could actually take to some serious off-road trails. The side view also reveals the glass canopy and roof that is void of traditional pillars, making for an exceptionally sleek design.

The rear of the concept is perhaps the simplest area of its design and sports a pair of LED taillights that incorporate a Maybach logo.

Mercedes-Maybach even went to the trouble of crafting a complete interior for the vehicle, despite many concepts not even having an interior at all. Dominating the cabin is sand-colored leather and a pair of seats that can fold completely flat. Other highlights of the cabin include a digital instrument cluster mounted in the center of the dashboard. There’s also a unique steering wheel and an ice box to keep drinks cool.
