The new GMC Hummer EV is so popular that when used models come up on the market they go for well over MSRP. Nevertheless, the big SUV is going to be more expensive starting tomorrow. Prices are jumping by $6,250, but existing orders will remain at previously quoted prices.
The price hike applies to all pickup and SUV models. The base EV2, with its pair of motors and their combined 625 hp (466 kW), will start at $86,245 before it arrives in the spring of 2024. If that’s the one you’re after we can only imagine it might go up again before then so ordering sooner rather than later could save you thousands.
The EV2X, also equipped with the dual-motor setup but with a bigger battery, good for 300 or more miles (483 km) on a single charge, will be $96,245. It should arrive sometime in the spring of next year around the same time as the Hummer SUV Edition 1. Finally, the EV3X with its tri-motor setup and 845 hp will now have a starting price of $106,245. It’s on track to begin deliveries late this year.

Again, if you’ve already placed an order for one of these so-called super trucks, you’re in the clear and can expect your MSRP to remain as it was when you completed the order. According to a report in the Automotive News, GMC says that the increase is the product of “rising costs for commodities, parts, technology and logistics.”
It’s important to note that while $6,250 is no small amount of cash, at this sort of price tag, it won’t affect buyers as much as it would if the Hummer started under $50,000. In fact, GMC has already made it clear that many of the individuals who have already ordered the Hummer have added expensive options atop the base vehicle.
During the first quarter, GMC delivered just 99 Hummers, though the company says it has more than 77,500 reservations so far for its electric truck and SUV.
